While searching for Sita ji, Lord Rama, Bhayya Lakshman and Hanuman ji found this Jatayu bird in a dead condition. Lord Ram ji had a word hole at that time out of compassion. For Jatayu it was "Le Pakshi", after whom the village was named Lepakshi.

Ardhanarishvara, Skeleton idol, Dakshinamurti and Tripuratakeshwar are also present in other forms of Lord Shiva.
