The Virbhadra Temple was built in the 16th century
Which is also known as Lepakshi temple. The construction of the temple
dates back to both 1530 and 1540. Whose two brothers, Virupanna
Nayak and Veeranna, who lived in Penukonda, were originally residents of
Karnataka. He got the temple built. Who was employed at Penukonda in the
Vijayanagar empire of King Achyutaraya. He was entrusted with the task of
building the temple by the king.

architecture and style
Lepakshi temple is very famous for ancient sculptures. There are idols of Virabhadra, Shiva ji, Bhadrakali, Ganesh ji, Vishnu ji, Lakshmi ji Nag Ligam and Nandi made by the artisans and artists of the Vijayanagara Empire. Ardhanarishvara, Skeleton idol, Dakshinamurti and Tripuratakeshwar are also present in other forms of Lord Shiva.
